THE PRICELY BUYING GUIDE
Best AI writing tools for creators, plus a plagiarism check (2026)
About our affiliate linksAI writing tools have split into two groups. Marketing copy tools are built around templates and brand voices for ads, emails and landing pages. Writing assistants sit closer to a blank page and help you draft, rewrite or research in your own voice. If you publish what they produce, a plagiarism and AI check before posting is cheap insurance, so one is included.
Several familiar names have changed direction this year. Rytr now calls itself an AI relationship manager and follow-up assistant, Writesonic leads with AI search tracking, and Copy.ai with sales and marketing workflows. Their writing features are still there, but plans and prices now reflect those new products. Plans and terms below were read from each tool's own pricing and terms pages on 3 Nov 2026.
Quick picks
- Cheapest unlimited writing: Rytr Lite, $9/mo for unlimited characters.
- Fiction and screenplays: Sudowrite, from $10/mo, built on a model trained for fiction.
- Checking text before you publish: Quetext, free for 1,000 words, $14.99/mo for 100,000 words.
- Copy with a refund window: Copy.ai, $24/mo billed yearly, refundable within 5 days.
- Copy scored before you post: Anyword, $39/mo billed yearly, predicts how each version will perform.

- Credits versus words. Sudowrite counts credits, HyperWrite counts messages, Rytr counts characters. Compare on your own monthly volume.
- Rollover. Only Sudowrite's Max plan carries credits over (12 months).

How this guide was put together
The tool list comes from the guides that rank highest for this job, Zapier, Ryan Robinson and RivalFlow, plus tools that run partner programs. Plans, limits and terms come from each tool's own pricing and terms pages, read on 3 Nov 2026. User ratings and review themes come from each tool's Trustpilot page, read the same day; they reflect what reviewers chose to post, not a survey of all users.
